The factory is due to launch production in 2018, Great Wall said in a new financial report. The company laid the cornerstone for the plant located in the Uzlovaya Industrial Park, 40 kilometres from Tula, in August 2014 and started construction of the factory in September 2015. According to information released by Great Wall earlier, the plant will produce up to 150,000 Haval brand vehicles a year after reaching full capacity. Great Wall will push for the sales of the Haval brand in Russia in the future.

The brand Great Wall, in the past one of the leading Chinese brands on the Russian market, disappeared from the market. There are currently no exports frm China to Russia. In the past, Great Wall vehicles were distributed by the Irito Group. Some of them were assembled at Irito’s plants in Gzhel near Moscow and in the Lipetsk region. However, Irito is not involved in the Tula project.
