Tedrive Steering Gets New Turkey Operation Up and Running

The opening ceremony and official commissioning of the facility took place today in the presence of representatives from the management of Ford Otosan and other business partners, including logistics partner Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. The new tedrive Steering just-in-time facility is located in the logistics park in Beylikdüzü. Hellmann is responsible for the transportation of components from Germany to Turkey and also provides the space and assembly personnel for the production of steering systems developed by tedrive.

With the opening of this new final assembly line for hydraulic steering systems, tedrive Steering is now providing direct support to Ford Otosan in Turkey. The ceremony on June 6, 2012 marked the official opening by tedrive Steering of the new assembly plant operated by its Turkish subsidiary tedrive Yönlendirme Sistemleri San ve Ticaret Ltd. Sti, founded last year.

The new facility in Beylikdüzü, on the outskirts of Istanbul, will assemble steering systems for the new Ford Transit Custom, which enters production mid-year. The components of the steering system are manufactured at tedrive Steering's headquarters in Wuelfrath (near Wuppertal, Germany) and are assembled in Istanbul for just-in-time delivery. In addition to the new assembly facility, tedrive Steering also supports Ford Otosan with local engineering services from a development office in Gebze/Kocaeli.
