ZAZ Starts Serial Production of the Vida Sedan

The Vida is based on the previous generation Chevrolet Aveo, and is currently produced as a four-door sedan in Ukraine. Production of its five-door hatchback derivative will be added there in the second quarter, which will be followed by an LCV in the second half of the 2012. ZAZ plans to assemble some 16 thousand Vidas in 2012, with about half of the amount destined for export to the CIS countries. The Vida is offered with 1.3l-1.5l engines from GM, Acteco and MеMZ, with power output between 86 hp-109 hp, either with manual or with automatic transmission. The localization rate of the car is planned to reach over 50% by mid-2012, with components like wheels, batteries, wire harnesses, etc. produced locally. ZAZ will start production of body parts, seats and plastic interior and exterior components for the Vida by the beginning of May.

Ukraine’s largest auto maker Zaporozhye Car Plant (ZAZ) has launched full-scale production of its new C segment passenger car, the ZAZ Vida, at its main production line
