Hidria Opens Ignition Systems Plant in China

Hidria will be making diesel engine ignition systems for international corporations such as Great Wall, JMC, Shanghai Automotive, Cummins, Perkins and SAIC. The facility is located 100 kilometres north of Shanghai and employs 50 people by 2013.

So far, Hidria has been supplying ignition systems for the Asian market from Slovenia, but now it will become more efficient in meeting the needs of its partners from China, Japan, South Korea, India, Malaysia and other Asian countries.

The launch of local production does not mean that the company is relocating production, but merely expanding the output of ignition systems, as it is following its customers with local production facilities in China.

The Changshu technology park was selected as the location for the plant because it opens possibilities for further expansion of production and because of its proximity to Shangai.

Hidria currently has companies and offices in 20 countries around the world and sells its products in 80 countries. Every eighth diesel engine in the world has Hidria's ignition
system.

The company ranks among top four producers of the systems in the world and is the first among them to launch production on the fast growing Chinese market.
