Dacia Produces 1.5 Millionth K7 Engine

The jubilee Euro 5 compilant 1.6 litre K7M engine has been delivered to the adjacent Dacia car factory. Among the customers of the Dacia Powertrain and Chassis Plant (UMCD) are Renault plants in France, Russia, Morocco, South Africa and Colombia. The facility in the Mioveni Industrial Park currently produces two versions of the K7 engines, the 1.4 litre K7J and a the 1.6 litre K7M.
UMCD has a daily production capacity of 1.567 units. In 2010, the facility assembled 247,780 engines. Beside producing engines, UMCD's 3.785 employees are also engaged in the production of two types of gearboxes and various chassis and suspension parts and modules.
