Germany’s Huf to Build New Manufacturing Plant in Romania

German car lock systems producer Huf Hülsbeck & Fürst GmbH & Co. KG will build a factory in Arad, Romania, where it will move the production of the three rented units in the same city, Mediafax reports, quoting the company’s communications director, Ute Hoppe. Huf’s representatives would not offer details on the investment value, but the factory will be built on an area of 11,000 sqm.

“Currently, we operate three rented production units in Arad. The fact that we are doing stable business in Romania made us decide to build a factory, and at the end of next year we will move all equipment in the new production unit”, Hoppe said.

Huf produces in Romania mechanical and electrical closing systems, keys, handles and steering locks for Dacia, Porsche, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, MAN and Volvo.

The German group also operates a production unit in the neighbouring Poland.

The new plant will replace the existing rented units in Arad
