Yazaki to Acquire Cablelettra

Yazaki has been considering the acquisition of Cablelettra for several years. It was in February, 2009, when Cablelettra went on a bankruptcy procedures under Italian laws; and in February, 2011, the bidding offer was adjudicated in favor of Yazaki by the authorities concerned.

Yazaki Automotive Products Srl, a newly formed Italian subsidiary of Yazaki Corporation, will acquire a certain portion of Cablelettra’s business in Italy, together with all the assets and operations of the Cablelettra’s subsidiaries outside Italy, including its manufacturing facility in Mikolow, Poland.

With this transaction aiming at expanding our business opportunities in European and Brazilian market, of which targeted sales amount of €200 million by 2013, it is expected to contribute to the expansion of Yazaki’s global wiring harnesses operations.

Japan’s Yazaki Corp. announced that on July 29, 2011, a final closure agreement was signed for the acquisition of Cablelettra S.p.A in Italy as well as the subsidiaries outside Italy
