Lada Priora to Roll Off ChechenAvto's Argun Plant from September

Argun, Chechen Republic-based car maker ChechenAvto plans to launch serial production of the Lada Priora (VAZ-217030) in September, Aynadi Kuzumov, managing director of the company said. According to him, 400 units of this model will be produced at the Pischemash plant until year-end. The facility is expected to assemble some 50 thousand Prioras by 2016.

Negotiations about production of the Priora in the Chechen Republic have been under way since 2008, but the final agreement was signed only this year.

The company started production of the Lada 2107 cars in May 2008. Between January and June 2011, 321 units rolled off the assembly line in Argun.
