Suzuki Marks 2 Millionth Car Produced in Hungary

Suzuki’s automobile production and sales subsidiary in Hungary, Magyar Suzuki Corporation Kft. (MSC) has achieved the accumulating total of 2 million in its automobile production volume today. The jubilee car is a New Swift equipped with a 1.3 litre engine.

Magyar Suzuki employs 3,400 people but 18,000 people work for its primary suppliers and another 32,600 jobs at 84 companies are there thanks to Suzuki. These 40,000 jobs account for about 1% of all workplaces in Hungary.

Suzuki's revenue from exports reaches an annual €1.4 billion or 2% of Hungary's total exports. Cars made at the plant in Esztergom are delivered to 45 countries around the world.

The company plans to churn out 170 thousand units this year, the same amount as in 2010. However, disruptions in the supply chain from the Japan disaster can have negative effect on this plan.
