China’s Yapp Inaugurates Russian Components Plant

Last week, Chinese supplier Yapp Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. opened a US$20 million (approx. €14 million) producion facility in Kaluga, about 150 kilometers southwest of Moscow. The new plant is situated in the Grabtsevo Industrial Park and is dedicated for the production of thermoplastic fuel tanks and related parts. Initial annual capacity of 250 thousand units could be extended by 200 thousand units if demand requires. This is Yapp's first factory in Russia and the second in Europe. The company also operates a plant in Mladá Boleslav in the Czech Republic.

The company is already supplying components to Volkswagen's local plant for VW and Skoda cars.

Founded in December 1988, Yapp Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. is the largest Chinese producer of plastic fuel tanks. Its main foreign clients include Ford, GM, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Volkswagen, Hyundai and Kia.
