The Bulgarian division of French logistics company Gefco, part of PSA Peugeot Citroën Group, will launch operations in the country in September, focusing on automotive logistics, local news agency The Sofia Echo reports, citing company sources.
The unit, which expects to be registered under the name Gefco Bulgaria by September, already has a staff of seven employees and projects to hire six more by the end of the year.
Gefco Bulgaria will be headed by Alexander Rachinski, who has been part of Gefco's team since 2005.
The company's strategy for Bulgaria will focus on automotive logistics and establishment of relations with current and prospective suppliers - small- and medium-size transport firms in the country.
Gefco is present in 150 countries and has a personnel of 9400. The company ended 2010 with a turnover of €3.35 billion, while its operating profit was €198 million.
