Volkswagen Extends Non-Stop Production at Slovak Plant

Volkswagen Slovakia a.s. saw a 36% increase in output last year on rising demand for its SUV models in Germany and emerging markets. The plant near Bratislava produces sports utility vehicles, including the Volkswagen Touareg, Audi Q7, and complete bodies of the Porsche Cayenne.

The production launch of VW’s New Small Family models is scheduled for autumn and is expected to boost the factory's annual output by 43% to 400,000 vehicles.

Volkswagen said in February it would invest €1 billion in Slovakia by 2015.
