Ford Launches Pilot Production of the B-Max at Craiova Plant

US car maker Ford Motor Co. has started pilot production of the B-Max small MPV at its plant in Craiova, southern Romania, local news agency Mediafax reported. According to the source, a total of 70 prototypes are expected to be made this summer. The assembly kits needed to produce the B-Max were produced at Ford’s German plants. The minivans will be tested soon in Belgium, at Ford Lommel Proving Ground and in other countries. After tests are finished, the cars will be dismantled. Ford Romania will start the production of the new car model next year. The B-Max will be produced exclusively in Romania, and it will be built alongside the Transit Connect at the Craiova plant. At the end of March, Ford finished installing the production lines for B-Max and a new family of engines at the facility.
