Dacia to Lauch Solar Roof Project at Mioveni Plant

Romanian car maker Dacia plans looks to install solar panels at its Mioveni plant in order to cut power usage, with the first units set to be installed approximately two years from now, Renault Services Roumanie CEO Bernard Sonilhac told Mediafax. He pointed out that the details of this project will be established soon and the project will be presented to authorities in order to obtain subsidies. Sonilhac pointed out that the solar panels system will significantly lower energy costs. The Renault Services Roumanie representative added that by the end of 2015 the plant will invest approx. €6 million in environment programmes. The car maker announced last week that it has invested €22 milion in energy projects in the last 10 years, its energy consumption dropping by 74%.
Dacia’s parent company Renault announced last week that it will launch the world’s biggest solar energy project in the automotive industry by installing solar roof panels at six of its French plants.
