Suzuki Hungary Resumes to Double-Shift Operation

The Hungarian unit of Japanese car maker Suzuki has switched back to double-shift production after working on single shift for a month as a result of supply shortages caused by a natural disaster in Japan.

Magyar Suzuki Zrt. is back at a daily production of 850 cars, Viktória Ruska, the company’s communication chief, told local newswire MTI on Monday.

The Hungarian arm of Suzuki Motor Corp. announced on 3 May that it switched to a single-shift production to mitigate risks of parts shortage stemming from the affects of a devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
