Another 60,000 vouchers for the junk cars scrapping programme are going to be available, the Environmental Ministry said on Wednesday. It is expected that about 120,000-140,000 old cars will be scrapped this year through the programme, which started in the second half of March and had an initial budget of €55 million.
Last year Romanians scrapped 190,000 old cars and bought 63,000 new ones through the clunkers programme, of which 26,000 were locally made cars.
