Turkish Ford expects further growth in 2011

ISTANBUL, Turkey - Ford Otosan, expects to break its own record in automotive production and sales in 2011. The jointly owned company of Ford USA and Turkey’s Koc Holding, plans to manufacture 287.000 vehicles and hopes to sell 344.000 vehicles to the domestic and foreign markets. The earlier forecasts from the company had a production figure of 280.000 vehicles and a sales figure of 340.000 vehicles. Ford Otosan’s previous record of production and sales was in 2007 when the company rolled out over 286.000 vehicles and reached a sales volume of 325.000 units. The company’s plans for 2011 involves USD 300 million of investments and ending the year as the market leader for the 10th consequtive term, taking up a 15.6 percent share in Turkey’s automotive market.
