Poppe + Potthoff, a German supplier of common rail subsystems and tubular components, plans to expand production at its Hungarian subsidiary in Ajka, western Hungary with a multi-billion forint investment, CEO László Gellén told local newswire Napi Gazdaság.
The expansion comes as demand from German and French carmakers is rising steadily. The company will supply Mercedes’ local and German units. It has also been awarded large contracts from heavy-equipment maker Caterpillar and Cummins. Based on their experiences, the sector has seemingly weathered the crisis.
Poppe & Potthoff Hungária Bt. is targeting HUF39 billion revenues for this year, the same level as before the crisis.
Poppe + Potthoff will expand production at its Ajka factory in response to rising demand from its German and French customers.
