Dacia to Cease Production for 10 Days over Parts Shortage

BUCHAREST, Romania - Romanian car maker Dacia will cease production at its plant in Pitesti-Colibasi between April 22 and May 2, due to parts shortage resulting from problems with suppliers in France, local newswire HotNews.ro reports, citing company officials.

The parts shortage has limited the availability of certain type of engines and body parts, therefore only the assembly and body shop operations will be idled, other departments will not be affected by the measure.

According to Groupe Renault Romania communications chief Anca Oreviceanu, the 10 day period will enable the troubled suppliers to catch up with deliveries.
