Faurecia to Expand Further in Poland

PARIS, France - Faurecia, the France-based global manufacturer of automotive components, has announced plans to invest at least PLN40 million (approx. €10 million) in expanding its manufacturing complex in Gorzow Wielkopolski, in the Kostrzyn-Slubice Special Economic Zone, local newswire PMR reports.

The new facility will produce parts for the next generation Volkswagen Golf, whose production is expected to commence in 2012. Faurecia is currently in the process of purchasing land for the new plant, Malgorzata Zieba, the spokeswoman for Faurecia Poland, revealed. The news comes less than three months after the French firm announced another PLN 40m project in Gorzow to enlarge its plant making instrument panels and door trim panels there. The investment will create 55 new jobs and safeguard 740 existing ones. Faurecia has a wide presence in Poland with eight manufacturing plants and an R&D centre at four locations: in Gorzow, Grojec, Walbrzych and Legnica. The plants employ nearly 5,500 workers.

Faurecia is bracing itself for the forthcoming launch of the next-generation Volkswagen Golf
