New car market in Russia: August, 2014 figures are released

According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC), August 2014 saw a drop in sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia by 25,8% in comparison with the same period of 2013. This August 172,015 units were sold; this is 59,900 units less than in August, 2013.

Between January and August 2014 new car and LCV sales declined by 12,1% or 217,092 units in comparison to the same period of the previous year. This year 1,582,713 cars have been sold.

Lada: 26,467 units
Kia: 13,644 units
Hyundai*: 13,416 units
Toyota*: 12,722 units
Renault*: 12,388 units
Nissan*: 11,061 units
Volkswagen: 8,604 units
Chevrolet: 7,952 units
Škoda: 6,774 units
GAZ*: 5,177 units

*LCV sales are included into total brand's sales.
